What: Everyone in the Hilltop is invited to hop on a Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh-sponsored bus to take a tour of the renovated Allegheny branch of CLP. After the tour, we will have a meeting in the Allegheny branch to share ideas about a potential new library for the Hilltop.
Where/When: Bus will make a first pickup at the Carrick branch at 9:30 am. on Saturday, August 7th. The second pickup will be at 9:50 am. at the Knoxville Library. The bus will then drive to the Allegheny branch for the tour and meeting. After the meeting, the bus will return participants to the Knoxville and Carrick branches at approximately 12:30 pm.
Note: Community members are not required to ride with us on the bus and are welcome to come directly to the Allegheny branch at 10:30 am. for the tour and meeting.
[Editor's note: It seems the library system still thinks it will be a great idea to close Knoxville and Carrick libraries because of lack of funds -- and then build one new library to serve both communities. No problem with lack of funds there, it seems. We wonder how long the "new" library would survive before it, too, would have to be closed because of lack of funds?]
