Brownsville Road in Mt. Oliver was fairly clear by the next day.
Their food supplies buried, birds line up at a bird feeder -- even aristocratic Mr. Cardinal.

Do you remember the Big Snow of 1950? It was so big that no traffic moved on Knox Avenue -- except kids with
sleds. What a trek up that looooong Knox Avenue hill, to Orchard Street. There you turned around, pointed your sled down Knox Avenue and belly-flopped for the ride
of your life. And it was a memorable ride. By the time you hit Charles Street you were flying -- and who knew that Charles Street was level compared to the rest of Knox Avenue?
As a result, you shot across Charles Street -- and you were airborne before hitting Knox Avenue again...WHOMP! No springs on that Flexible Flyer, for sure. But you rocketed down the rest of Knox Avenue,
no fears of seeing cross traffic on Bausman Street, and you were part way up the Knox Avenue hill toward Brownsville Road before your sled ran out of momentum. Whew! And then you walked home, dragging your
once-flying-sled behind you, because it wasn't something you could do twice in one day.
